Attention Deadheads: Get Excited for the Incredible Grateful Dead Cover Band, Cosmic Charlie

Shake out your blanket, dust off your lawn chair, and tell your friends to meet you on the Green for City Green Live! This weekend, City Green Live is proud to present Cosmic Charlie, a Grateful Dead cover band. Check it out this Friday, June 14th beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Cosmic Charlie was born in the musical Mecca of Athens, Georgia. From its summer 1999 inception, the band has been swiftly cementing its reputation as a band that puts a unique and personal twist on the Grateful Dead catalogue. They’re a Dead cover band for folks that are ambivalent about Dead cover bands. Rather than mimicking the Dead exactly, Cosmic Charlie chooses to tap into the Dead's energy and style as a foundation on which to build. The result is healthy balance of creativity and tradition.

The Grateful Dead were the psychedelic era's most beloved musical ambassadors as well as its most enduring survivors, spreading their message of peace, love, and mind expansion across the globe throughout the better part of three decades. The object of adoration for popular music's most fervent and celebrated fan following -- the Deadheads, their numbers and devotion legendary in their own right -- they were the ultimate cult band, creating a self-styled universe all their own.
