Show Your Love for the Legendary Author, Truman Capote, By Attending This Event

Revisit a cherished tale next Monday night! On December 17th, Tom Key will present a one-man adaptation of Truman Capote’s beloved story, A Christmas Memory. An Alabama native himself, Key narrates the semi-autobiographical tale of seven-year-old Alabama boy, Buddy, and his unique friendship with his elderly eccentric cousin, like “a lost pair of kites hurrying towards heaven.”

Originally published in Mademoiselle magazine in December 1956, A Christmas Memory has been published in many editions and anthologies since. The largely autobiographical story, which takes place in the 1930s, focuses on country life, friendship, and the joy of giving during the Christmas season, and it also gently yet poignantly touches on loneliness and loss. Now a holiday classic, A Christmas Memory has been broadcast, recorded, filmed, and staged multiple times, in award-winning productions.

Narrator Tom Key has served as Artistic Director of Theatrical Outfit since 1995, where his drive to tell “Stories That Stir The Soul” in the heart of downtown Atlanta has developed the company into one of our city’s major performing arts institutions. Key has appeared in over 100 productions from off-Broadway to Los Angeles including Grapes of Wrath, Candide, A Christmas Carol, and many others.

Don’t miss this one-night-only event! Tickets to witness A Christmas Memory start at 25 dollars and may be purchased online at www.theatricaloutlet.org.
